An Early Christmas

On the weekend, we travelled to Cootamundra for an early Christmas with Mum's family. My aunty Kerrie, uncle Michael and cousins Ella, Jack and Lily live in Coota, a very nice town about two hours drive from Canberra. 

Also there were Nan and Pa, and uncle Matt, aunty Jane and cousin James. Uncle Paul, and my other cousins Reilly and Chloe couldn't make it because they live in Canada.

We arrived on Saturday at lunchtime and a short time later got stuck into the all-important opening of gifts. I really scored! I got a fun toy that has a frog to push down, and it makes little fish and frogs rattle around inside; and my very own John Deere tractor! Yep, you guessed it, Farmer Pa was behind that one! James got one too, and our dads spent the next couple of hours in their own little John Deere factory assembly line, putting them together. I'm going to have so much fun riding it around the backyard at our house!

We had a lovely big dinner that night, and while I was in bed asleep Mum played 'Snap' and 'Go Fish' with Ella, while Dad tried to play 500 with Matt, Jane and Michael. 

We had to go back to Canberra on Sunday so that Mum could work, but we had a lovely time with the family for Christmas. On Monday, Nan and Pa came to visit us -- they stayed Monday night, and then Nan had to get on the plane for her trip to Canada. She is spending Christmas with Paul, Reilly and Chloe, and will stay in Canada until February. We will miss her lots, but hope to talk to her on the phone and Skype all the time!
